Report: Club finding contract talks with Spurs-linked star ‘extremely complicated’

Kicker have revealed that Wolfsburg’s attempts to tie down rumoured Tottenham target Omar Marmoush to a new contract are proving difficult.

Marmoush caught people’s eye with his impressive displays on loan at VfB Stuttgart last season and the winger has shone since his return to his parent club Wolfsburg in the summer.

The Egypt international was first mooted as a target for Spurs before the summer transfer window, with BILD reporting earlier this year that the Lilywhties were battling Arsenal for the 23-year-old.

Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung then suggested a couple of weeks ago that Wolfsburg might have to sell Marmoush for a cut-price fee in January as his current deal at the Volkswagen Arena runs out next summer.

Kicker have now offered an update on the winger’s future, with Niko Kovac’s side alleged to be finding contract talks with the player to be ‘extremely complicated’.

The report states that although Wolfsburg have resumed talks with Marmoush, an agreement between the parties is still ‘a long way off’.

It is explained that the biggest hurdle faced is financial, with the Bundesliga club not being able to meet the Stuttgart man’s contract demands.

Spurs Web Opinion

There have not been too many concrete reports over recent months suggesting that Spurs continue to retain their interest in Marmoush. The Egyptian’s output in the final third has been quite modest this season, which is why I doubt if any of the top Premier League clubs will be after him.
