Report: Club given ‘green light’ to sign 28-year-old as alternative to Spurs star

Serge Aurier’s proposed move to AC Milan could be off as Calciomercato are now reporting that the Serie A giants could complete a deal for Real Madrid right-back Alvaro Odriozola instead.

Aurier has just 12 months left to run on his contract and the right-back has admitted that he has come to the end of a cycle and is looking to leave the club this summer.

AC Milan have been one of the clubs credited with an interest in the Ivory Coast international but some sources indicated last week that the Rossoneri were exploring other alternatives, including Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.

Calciomercato have now backed that up, revealing that both Dalot and Aurier are among the right-backs on Milan’s radar.

The report reveals that the Serie A club’s loan offer for Dalot with an option to buy him permanently has been turned down by United.

However, it is said that Real Madrid have given Milan the green light to sign Alvaro Odriozola, who was another alternative that the Italians were considering.

Stefano Pioli’s side are said to be working on the Odriozola deal and if they manage to get it over the line, Aurier might see another exit route close after Paris Saint Germain confirmed their capture of Achraf Hakimi.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Aurier having just 12 months left to run on his contract and with his options running out, it is starting to look like we will do well to get any fee at all for him this summer. Hopefully, more clubs will come in for him later in the window and Levy decides to be reasonable with his asking price.
