Report: Club have already identified replacement for Spurs-linked manager

Bild have revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt have identified a replacement for Oliver Glasner as they fear that their head coach could join Tottenham.

Multiple sources have reported over the last week that Glasner is one of the names on Spurs’ shortlist to replace Antonio Conte but the Austrian is not expected to leave Frankfurt until the end of the season (Fabrizio Romano –YouTube channel).

Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed a couple of days ago that the Bundesliga club are keen to tie the 48-year-old down to a new contract amidst interest from England.

However, he explained that Glasner wants to take his time to make a decision on his future and has not held any concrete negotiations with the German club at this stage.

Bild have now become the latest publication to report on Tottenham’s interest in the coach, who guided Frankfurt to the Europa League title last season.

The publication reveals that Eintracht sporting director Markus Krosche has offered Glasner a new deal that runs until 2026, which will see his salary rise from €2.1 (£1.8m) to €3m (£2.6) per year but the offer has been turned down by the Austrian.

Bild state that the Bundesliga side have thus identified Borussia Dortmund Under-19 coach Mike Tullberg as a possible successor to Tottenham’s managerial target.

While Tottenham might prefer a project manager who can build for the future rather than someone who wants to achieve instant success, the club also need a big enough name to convince Kane to remain at N17.

I doubt if Glasner’s arrival would excite much of the Spurs squad or convince Kane of the club’s ambition.
