Estadio Deportivo have reported that Sevilla ‘have not stopped monitoring’ Bryan Gil ever since they sold him to Tottenham around 18 months ago.
Tottenham reportedly paid £21.6m to sign the young Spanish winger, with Erik Lamela also moving the other way and joining up with Sevilla (Sky Sports).
However, Gil found game time hard to come by last season and was eventually loaned out in January back to La Liga with Valencia, where he impressed for a short while.
AS reported (01/12/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness) earlier this year that Valencia are keen on re-signing Gil on loan in January, but Conte will only sign off on such a move after a replacement comes through the doors at Hotspur Way (Super Deporte).
Estadio Deportivo then reported this month that Cadiz could also enter the race to loan Bryan Gil in January. The same publication now states that, although there has been ‘no concrete interest’ as of yet, Sevilla have been monitoring Gil ever since he left and the current manager is a big fan.
Spurs Web Opinion:
If it were up to me, Spurs would be loaning Gil to a Premier League club to see what he can really do. Unfortunately, it feels as though they are just setting him up for a sale back to La Liga, maybe to either recoup their fee or make a very small profit, depending on how he does out on loan.
