Report: Club have sent a £12.8m offer to Spurs for out-of-favour player

Russian football agent Timur Gurtskaya has told the YouTube channel Eto Futbol brat! that Spartak Moscow have now submitted an opening offer to Tottenham for Davinson Sanchez.

Not only does Sanchez only have one year left on his contract at Spurs but the Colombian also does not seem a natural fit for Ange Postecoglou’s possession-based, high-risk approach, given his technical shortcomings.

That is perhaps why it has been widely reported over the last few weeks that he is one of the players who is expected to be offloaded by Spurs as part of their mass summer clear-out (The Evening Standard and Football.London).

There is seemingly no shortage of interest in Sanchez at the moment, with the Tottenham man said to be on the radars of Spartak Moscow (Sport Express), PSV Eindhoven (Voetbal International), Villarreal (Relevo) and Galatasaray (Sporx).

Spartak send opening offer for Davinson Sanchez

Gurtskaya has now revealed on the Russian channel Eto Futbol brat! that Spartak have launched an opening offer of €15m (£12.8m) for the centre-back.

The agent allegedly adds that the 27-year-old has also been offered a contract worth £80,000 per week in the Russian capital.

Sanchez is said to have asked for some time to ‘think’ about the offer and consider his various options.

Spurs Web Opinion

If this report is true, Tottenham would likely be more than happy to accept £13m for Sanchez, given that he has just one year left on his deal.

However, the 27-year-old still has a huge chunk of his career ahead of him and I suspect he might want to try his luck in a top league like La Liga, Serie A or Ligue 1.
