Report: Club identify 23-year-old as alternative to signing Tottenham star

Calciomercato.it have claimed that Bayern Munich have identified Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as an alternative to Harry Kane.

Multiple outlets have continued to talk up the possibility of Kane moving to Bayern Munich over recent days, with the striker now into the final 18 months of his contract at Tottenham.

The print edition of SportBILD (15/02/23 via Sport Witness) suggested earlier this week that it will be ‘Kane or nothing’ for Bayern in the summer.

This was also backed up by Todofichajes, who reported on Thursday that the Bundesliga club have identified the 29-year-old as their priority signing, with Julian Nagelsmann viewing the Tottenham man as being ‘fundamental’ to help the club achieve their objectives next season.

Calciomercato.it have now said that while Kane remains Bayern’s ‘dream’ signing for the summer transfer window, they have identified one alternative in Vlahovic. It is asserted that the Serbian fits the profile of centre-forward that the German club are after.

However, it is explained that Bayern would only make a move for the 23-year-old if Juventus drop their current asking price of €80m-€90m (£71.4m-£80.3m).

The report adds that Nagelsmann’s side would only be willing to pay that sort of fee to sign the England captain.

Spurs Web Opinion

Bayern have clearly not received a ‘no’ from Kane’s camp yet. Otherwise, they would have already abandoned their pursuit of the striker. However, that does not mean that the 29-year-old wants to move to the Allianz Arena. He could just be keeping his options open ahead of the summer.
