Report: Club laying groundwork for sale of Tottenham defensive target

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Juventus are laying the groundwork to sell Merih Demiral this summer in order to raise funds for transfers of their own.

However, the report adds that because Demiral still has three years left on his current contract, Juventus will not sell for anything under £34.4m.

Tottenham have been linked with the central defender who represented Turkey at Euro 2020 this summer, with new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, knowing him well from his time with The Old Lady.

It is claimed that Spurs are an option for the defender this summer, while a potential swap deal involving Moise Kean is mooted for Everton.

The report says that Juventus directors have already met with Demiral’s agent to discuss a move as the player is unhappy with his lack of game time.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham signing Demiral and Andersen this summer would be great business. Neither would break the bank but they would significantly improve a struggling defence.
