Report: Club looking at replacement for striker linked with Spurs

The speculation linking Tottenham with a move for Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi continues to intensify with latest reports suggest that the Turkish giants are looking at possible replacements to fill the void left by his potential departure.

The striker, who has been in prolific form in front of goal for club and country this season, was said to be on Tottenham’s radar during the January transfer window but a move never materialised (Aksam).

Turkish publication Fanatik reported earlier this week that Spurs were ready to push ahead with a move for Muqiri this summer and were willing to meet Fenerbahce’s £22 million valuation of the Kosovan international.

It was claimed that the Lilywhites were favourites to land the 24-year-old ahead of Serie A side Lazio.

Tottenham’s chances of landing Muriqi have been boosted even further with Fotomac now claiming that Fenerbahce have already started looking for replacements for the centre forward due to the fact that they expect him to leave the club this summer.

Muriqi fits the bill for what we need for several reasons. He will come relatively cheap in comparison to other strikers and he won’t mind playing second fiddle to Kane initially. Additionally, owing to his proficiency in holding the ball up and his areal ability, he will give us a Plan B which we have been missing since Llorente left last summer.
