Report: Club make contact with Spurs winger despite five-year offer from Levy

Le Soir have revealed that Standard Liege have now contacted Tottenham academy player Romaine Mundle regarding a potential summer switch.

Mundle has been an outstanding performer for Spurs in Premier League 2 this season, with seven goals and five assists to his name in 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

However, Le Soir have now suggested that his days at Hotspur Way could be numbered as his contract with the North London club runs out in June.

The report explains that Tottenham have offered the winger a five-year deal but he is hesitating to sign it as he believes it would be very difficult for him to break into the first-team picture over the coming years.

Mundle is allegedly considering moving elsewhere in order to play senior football, with Standard Liege prepared to offer him that opportunity.

The report states that the Belgian club have already ‘made contact’ with the 20-year-old and that ‘discussions are continuing’ between the parties over a summer move.

It turns out that Liege are not alone in their interest in Mundle, with Het Laatste Nieuws reporting last week that rivals, Anderlecht are also eyeing up a summer move for the Spurs youngster.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have lost some extremely promising young players from our academy setup over the last five years, including Noni Madueke, Marcus Edwards, Dilan Markanday, Dennis Cirkin and Luis Binks.

Unless the youngsters in the academy see a legitimate pathway to the first team, we are going to continue leaking talent.
