Report: Club make transfer decision on Spurs man after recent performances

The print edition of Milliyet (as relayed by Sport Witness) have revealed that Galatasaray have decided to replace Tanguy Ndombele in January since the midfielder’s recent performances were not up to scratch.

Over the last couple of weeks, some Turkish outlets suggested that there was renewed optimism that Ndombele would be able to turn things around at Galatasaray after a poor start to his spell at the club (Sabah).

It was explained that the midfielder had reduced his weight and was determined to prove his worth to manager Okan Buruk.

The Frenchman did start two back-to-back matches against Alanyaspor and Manchester United, but he failed to cover himself in glory in either match and dropped back to the bench for the Istanbul club’s 2-0 win over Pendikspor on Saturday.

Decision made on Ndombele

Milliyet now claim that on the back of those performances, Galatasaray have decided that the on-loan Tottenham man ‘cannot deliver expected results’ at the club.

The report says that the Turkish giants have already decided against pursuing a permanent deal for Ndombele come the end of the seaason and the club’s technical staff ‘have a negative opinion’ of the 26-year-old, instructing the scouting department to find a replacement for him in January.

While there is no break clause in the Ndombele loan deal, if the midfielder continues to warm the bench for Galatasaray over the coming weeks, it might be in Tottenham’s interest to agree to terminate the loan and look to move on the midfielder on a permanent basis to some other side in January.

Spurs will perhaps be hoping that Saudi Arabian clubs show interest in the Frenchman but even that might be wishful thinking after his struggles in Turkey.
