Report: Club may be ready to swoop for Spurs player late in the January transfer window

Bryan Gil is a wanted man, but when it comes to Feyenoord’s interest in acquiring the Spurs man, the Dutch side are willing to wait until the end of the transfer window to get the deal they want.

It seems Gil‘s time at Tottenham may be coming to an end, with recent reports claiming the young Spaniard is one of the players that Ange Postecoglou and the club would be open to letting go this month if a suitable offer comes in (The Independent).

While Football.London claim Gil would be available for loan during the January transfer window, reports from Spain suggest Spurs would be willing to sell the 22-year-old for as little as €7-8m (£6-6.8m) (Vamos Mi Sevilla).

Feyenoord could still win the race for Bryan Gil

Those same reports put forward Sevilla and Real Sociedad as key suitors in the race to snap Gil up this month. However, the latest from 1908.nl reminds us not to discount the interest from Feyenoord over in Holland.

The report there states that, although the Dutch side have already had a loan offer for Gil knocked back, they are willing to return with a fresh approach at some point this month.

Despite “concrete interest” from Spain, Feyenoord are confident Gil will “remain available” until the very last moments of the transfer window.

Feyenoord are currently exploring other options, but it is thought they may be ready to swoop in and steal Gil’s signature if Spurs haven’t found a suitable deal by the end of the month.

I really think we should be pushing to get Gil a permanent move away now. It’s not fair on him to keep loaning him out, and it’s a wasted exercise for the club, too. We should cut our losses, move him on, and let him get his career back on track.
