Report: Club plan contract talks with star because Spurs interest ‘scares’ them

Gazzetta Dello Sport have reported that Inter Milan are now planning to kickstart negotiations with Milan Skriniar again as those in charge are scared by Tottenham’s interest in the central defender (via Sport Witness).

The report claims there is only one matter of ‘urgency’ at the Italian club, and that is locking in the long-term future of the Slovakian, who they believe is ‘irreplaceable.’

Those in charge of Inter, Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio, are said to be worried about Tottenham’s interest in their star, particularly with Antonio Conte at the helm.

The Italian led Skriniar to a historic Serie A title last season and is said to be a big fan of the centre-back.

Unfortunately for Spurs, and an ‘excellent starting point’ for Inter, Skriniar is said to be keen on remaining where he is for the time being, although the club will need to throw some financial weight behind their desire to keep him.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I think Tottenham are going to look out for a few kinds of players this summer. Players who immediately improve the squad. Players who can come in on a free. And a player or two who represents a young investment.
