Report: Club plotting ‘huge bid’ for Hary Kane despite new deal for player

According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United could be set to test Tottenham’s resolve with a huge bid for Harry Kane this summer despite handing a new contract to Edinson Cavani.

With Spurs set to miss out on Champions League qualification for a second straight season, reports indicate that Kane will ask Daniel Levy to listen to offers for him this summer.

Manchester United are one of the clubs who have been linked with a move for the Tottenham star, with some sources claiming that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men could offer multiple players to the North London club in exchange for the England captian.

The Red Devils announced on Monday that Cavani had agreed to a one-year contract extension running until 2022.

The Sun claimed that the Old Trafford offered the Uruguayan an extension after they decided to put their search for a new centre-forward on hold for another 12 months, with moves for the likes of Kane proving ‘increasingly difficult’.

However, Football Insider have now suggested that United are determined to push forward with a move for elite centre-forward this summer and could attempt to sign Kane even though they know the transfer will be fraught with complications along with Tottenham’s £100million-plus valuation.
