Report: Club preparing second approach for Spurs man after being knocked back

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has revealed that Swansea City are now preparing another approach for Tottenham’s senior assistant coach, Chris Davies.

Davies, who joined as part of Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff, is thought to be one of the candidates for the Swansea managerial job, with the Tottenham man said to fit the profile of coach that the Championship club are after (Wales Online).

While it was reported last week that Spurs had rejected the Welsh club’s approach for the 38-year-old (Matt Law), it was subsequently suggested that the Swans are not expected to give up on their pursuit just yet (The Independent).

When Postecoglou was asked about it last week, he failed to rule out the prospect of Davies leaving, insisting that the decision was up to his assistant (Football.London).

Swansea expected to return with Chris Davies offer

Thomas has now taken to social media to reveal that Swansea are preparing to make another approach for Davies ‘soon’.

It remains to be seen how Tottenham would now react and whether Davies would express his intention to leave.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Davies had not shown any interest in the Swansea manager position, Postecoglou would have likely said so to the media. It seems pretty clear that the 38-year-old is interested and it is quite likely that he was interviewed for the role. So, I do fear that he could be off.
