Report: Club president believes Spurs player will be too expensive this summer

The Daily Mail have revealed that Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness believes that Harry Kane is too expensive.

It does not seem like Bayern are prepared to give up on their pursuit of Kane despite their opening offer being turned down by Spurs, with Ben Jacobs claiming on Sunday the Bundesliga giants are ready to make an improved offer of £80m for the striker.

However, journalist Rudy Galetti subsequently reported that it would take an offer of £90m for Spurs to seriously consider selling their star striker.

Bayern Munich President is not on board with Kane

The Mail have now stated that there is a belief internally at Bayern that an offer of around £80m plus add-ons could get Daniel Levy talking with Kane about a potential transfer.

However, it is explained that Hoeness is not in favour of such a move, with the German club’s president believing that the Tottenham man is too expensive.

The publication adds that Bayern will first assess the cost of bringing in Kane before going about offloading some players.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Bayern bid £80m plus around £10m-£20m in performance-related add-ons, I would expect Tottenham to seriously consider the offer.

Whatever Spurs decide regarding Kane, they have to do so quickly so that Postecoglou can plan appropriately for the transfer window and the upcoming season.
