Report: Club president is ‘pushing internally’ to sign Spurs player this summer

According to the print edition of Le Parisien (19/06 as relayed by Sport Witness), Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is keen for the club to snap up Harry Kane this summer.

PSG’s interest in Kane first came to light last week when Foot Mercato reported that the Ligue 1 club had spoken to the Tottenham man’s entourage to find out whether he would be interested in a move to the club.

The report explained that the Parisians were keen on adding firepower to their squad following Lionel Messi’s departure, with the Spurs star’s name said to be at the top of their wishlist.

A couple of days ago, Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto also backed up PSG’s interest in Kane, with the journalist stating that the club’s interest in the 29-year-old is ‘gaining strength’.

However, Moretto added that the England captain is not the only number nine on the Ligue 1 giants’ wishlist, which was also said to contain the names of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.

PSG President wants to sign Spurs’ Harry Kane

If Le Parisien’s latest update is to be believed, Al-Khelaifi is in favour of a move for Kane, with the PSG president said to be ‘pushing internally’ to sign the Spurs star.

The publication adds that the centre-forward’s contract situation at Tottenham makes him an ‘enticing prospect’, particularly since PSG face the threat of losing Kylian Mbappe next summer.

I just do not see Kane being tempted to move to either France or Germany, which is why PSG’s and Bayern’s pursuit of the striker is doomed to fail.

It appears like the 29-year-old would prefer to run into the final year of his contract at Tottenham, thus keeping his options open ahead of next summer.
