Report: Club put £100m price tag on 23-year-old said to be wanted by Spurs

According to Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Football Italia) Napoli want €120m (£100m) for rumoured Tottenham target Victor Osimhen this summer.

Osimhen has been impressive since joining Napoli from Lille in the summer of 2020, having found the back of the net on 15 occasions in all competitions so far this campaign (Transfermarkt).

Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli (18/03/22 as relayed by TuttoNapoli) claimed recently that Tottenham are interested in a move for the Nigerian international ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report claimed that the North London club had identified the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Harry Kane should the England captain depart this summer.

Alfredo Pedulla subsequently stated Napoli had identified Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca as a replacement for Osimhen if the Nigerian international leaves the club this summer.

Corriere have now backed up that claim, reporting that Luciano Spalletti’s men will make a move for Scamacca if Osimhen leaves.

However, the report suggests that the Serie A side have no intention of letting their star striker leave on the cheap.

It is explained that Napoli rejected an offer of €100m (£83.3m) from Newcastle for Osimhen during the January transfer window and that they will only let the centre-forward leave for €120m (£100m) this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Spurs do cash in on Kane this summer, Osimhen should certainly be high on the North London club’s wishlist as a replacement for the England captain.

However, I do not see the 28-year-old being sold, which is why a move for Osimhen is unlikely to be on the cards for Spurs. I would not be surprised if the Nigerian ends up at Man Utd or Newcastle.
