Report: Club put £15m price tag on PL player being linked with Tottenham

The Daily Mail have now revealed that Liverpool are prepared to sell rumoured Tottenham target, Caoimhin Kelleher, for just £15m this summer.

Kelleher has served as Alisson Becker‘s understudy at Anfield for the past few years and while he has shown promise when called upon, opportunities have been hard to come by for the 24-year-old.

The Irish Independent reported two weeks ago that the goalkeeper is on Tottenham‘s radar as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris, with the North London club now expected to enter the race for his signature.

The publication added that the Lilywhites could be set to battle Brighton and Brentford for Kelleher when the transfer window opens this summer.

The Mail have now provided an update on Brentford’s pursuit of the Liverpool star, revealing that the Reds have asked the Bees to pay £15m for the goalkeeper.

However, the outlet adds that Thomas Frank’s men find that valuation to be ‘unrealistic’, which potentially opens the door for Spurs to swoop in.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think it is completely out of the question that Tottenham pursue a young, up-and-coming goalkeeper like Kelleher or Bazunu this summer and decide to slowly ease them into the number one role over the course of next season.

That is perhaps the only scenario where Lloris will remain at Spurs as the Frenchman appears unwilling to be an understudy in the event that the Lilywhites sign an experienced shot-stopper like Raya or Onana.
