Report: Club put rumoured Spurs target up for sale for £25m

Calcio Mercato have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target, Weston McKennie, is free to leave Juventus during the January transfer window.

McKennie was linked with a move to Tottenham over the summer, with sources alleging that Fabio Paratici was keen on bringing the midfielder to North London.

The Spurs managing director reportedly even offered Tanguy Ndombele to Juventus in a potential swap deal for the USA international but the 23-year-old ended up staying put in Turin.

The Lilywhites have been backed to reignite their interest in the Juventus star when the transfer window reopens in January.

Reports from Italy claimed earlier this week that Juve could use the American as a makeweight in a deal for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Calcio Mercato have now suggested that the Old Lady have put McKennie up for sale in January.

It is explained that the Serie A giants value the midfielder at around €30m (£25.4) and that West Ham could challenge Spurs for his signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced McKennie would improve our starting eleven. I would rather see Nuno persisting with Alli or Ndombele than signing the 23-year-old.

However, Paratici clearly likes the American, having taken him to Juve last season. So, I would not be surprised to see Spurs go in for the former Schalke man in January.
