Report: Club reach agreement with Fiorentina for Spurs-linked Vlahovic

Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement in principle with Fiorentina regarding rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham this summer with Alasdair Gold even revealing in the most recent episode of the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast that the 21-year-old was Fabio Paratici’s number one striker target.

The Lilywhites were reportedly competing with Atletico Madrid for the centre-forward, who scored 21 goals in the Serie A last season.

Rumours emerged earlier this week that Manchester City had also entered the race for the Serbian international but other sources have denied this claim, insisting instead that Harry Kane remains the Premier League champions’ number one target.

If Di Marzio’s latest update is to be believed, Vlahovic has now moved a step closer to Atletico after the La Liga club agreed to pay €50m (£42.9m) plus €10m (£8.5m) in easy bonuses for the striker.

The 21-year-old has allegedly also agreed personal terms with Diego Simeone’s side.

The journalist adds that Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso will now make the final decision following a meeting with Vlahovic.

If we are walking away from the Vlahovic deal at the reported price, that could be the biggest indication yet that Harry Kane’s proposed move to Manchester City is now off. It is difficult to see who we would replace the England captain with if he leaves now.
