Report: Club reject £11m bid from unnamed Premier League team amidst Spurs links

Mundo Deportivo have reported that Real Betis have rejected a bid of £11m for one of their star players this summer, with the bid reportedly coming from an unnamed Premier League side.

The player in question is striker Loren Moron, a man who has interested Tottenham, West Ham United, and Sheffield United this year (Sport Witness).

Todo Fichajes linked Spurs with Moron earlier this year, claiming that Mourinho was a fan of the 26-year-old.

The report claims that Moron currently has a 50 million Euro release clause, but Betis will let him leave this summer for a fee far lower than that. The La Liga side will apparently accept a bid around the €18m to €20m mark.

This is reinforced by Estadio Deportivo, who reported that such a release clause was never a realistic aim, but merely a guarantee that Betis would not have to sell against their will.

Tottenham, of course, did business with the Spanish side last summer when they signed Giovani Lo Celso on an initial loan before making the deal permanent in January.

Moron was Betis’ top scorer last season and Mundo Deportivo say that the club are managing several offers for the frontman. However, the £11m bid received is said to ‘not reach the minimum requirements’ of what Real Betis are looking for.

The report even mentions Tottenham by name, claiming that the Lilywhites have ‘pulled strings intensely’ in order to ‘position themselves’ in case Moron is available this summer.
