Report: Club relegated from PL set asking price for rumoured Spurs target

According to a report from Sheffield Star, Sheffield United will demand £35m for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Sander Berge.

Despite the fact that Oliver Skipp is set to return to Spurs after an impressive showing on loan at Norwich, reports indicate that the North Londoners are expected to be in the market for a centre midfielder.

Celtic’s Ismaila Soro and Brighton’s Yves Bissouma are both rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the transfer window.

Berge, who arrived at Sheffield United in January of last year, is another name who has been linked with a move to the club.

The Norwegian international has been a long-term target for Spurs, with the club reportedly tracking him since 2018.

However, if Sheffield Star are to be believed, Tottenham can give up any hope they harboured of signing the 23-year-old on a cut-price deal.

Amidst interest from both Spurs and Arsenal, it is revealed that the Blades have made it clear that they would only let Berge go for £35m despite their relegation from the Premier League.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even with Skipp returning, we might be in the market for a centre midfielder if we sell both Sissoko and Winks. However, Winks could well end up staying now that Mourinho has departed. Either way, centre midfield is not a priority position for us to address this summer. So, I cannot see us spending upwards of £30 for the likes of Berge.
