Report: Club set £18m January price tag for Tottenham-linked forward

Tottenham Hotspur are without Harry Kane for the long-term this season after his nasty hamstring injury, which has led to a flurry of transfer links to other strike options.

GhanaSoccerNet claimed this month that Tottenham are interested in and have already enquired about Swansea City striker Andre Ayew. The same publication claims that Leeds United are also interested.

However, the Sun now report that Swansea have set an £18m price tag on Ayew’s head this month as they do not want to sell the forward.

Ayew is already 30-years-old and it not exactly an out-and-out striker anyway. Who Scored say he has only been played as a centre-forward four times this season in the Championship.

In the Championship, he has scored 10 and assisted four in 26 games so far this season (Who Scored).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Absolutely not! Ayew is not good enough for a club pushing for the top four and is also not the type of player Spurs need. In my view, he is just Lucas Moura but worse and older. Spurs need a natural striker and target man.
