Report: Club slap £100 million tag on player linked with Spurs

If reports in the press are to be believed, Tottenham are set to break their year and a half hiatus from signing players by adding to their ranks over the next week (The Express).

While most of the reports seem to link the club with defenders and central midfielders, the club may also need to upgrade in attack with Fernando Llorente’s contract expiring, and Erik Lamela potentially following him out of the door (Evening Standard).

One player who Spurs have been linked with repeatedly over the past few seasons is Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha (Express).

The 26-year-old just had the most prolific season of his career, netting 10 goals, and Tottenham’s north London neighbours Arsenal are said to be interested in him.

The Daily Mail report, however, that the Gunners have been asked to pay £100 million for Zaha by Palace, which would likely put Arsenal also out of running considering their limited transfer budget this summer.

While Zaha would be a great fit for Spurs, he is simply not worth what Crystal Palace are demanding for him. Tottenham have seemingly made the right decision by looking elsewhere this summer for their targets.
