Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Valencia are still waiting on Tottenham to make a decision about Bryan Gil.

Gil’s Tottenham career has not started as he would have hoped since his move from Sevilla in the summer, which came on the back of the impressive loan campaign with Eibar.

It was reported this week that the 20-year-old could return to La Liga on loan, with Valencia and Real Sociedad both keen on signing him on a temporary deal (Cadena Ser).

Mundo Deportivo even suggested on Wednesday that the youngster was desperate to return to Spain ‘at all costs’ as he is struggling to adapt to life in London but Gil quickly took to social media to rubbish that claim.

Romano has revealed that Valencia still hope to bring the Tottenham man to the Mestalla on loan until the end of the season.

He also suggested that the La Liga club have identified AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo as an alternative to Gil as they wait for Spurs’ decision.

Gil might have just rubbished the report for suggesting that he is unhappy in London. His tweet does not necessarily rule out the prospect of him returning to La Liga on loan before the window shuts. However, unless Spurs bring in a winger before Monday’s deadline, I cannot see the club letting the 20-year-old leave.
