Report: Club want £34.3m for midfielder who Antonio Conte ‘likes a lot’

Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto has revealed that Fiorentina want €40m (£34.3m) for Tottenham target Sofyan Amrabat in January.

Unsurprisingly, Amrabat’s brilliant performances for Morocco at the World Cup have reportedly alerted several top clubs around Europe.

Foot Mercato reported last week that Spurs, Liverpool and Inter Milan were all keen on snapping up the midfielder and that the Reds had even spoken to the player’s agent regarding a January switch to Anfield.

Relevo have now backed up Tottenham’s and Liverpool’s interest in Amrabat, stating that despite the North London club’s failed approach to sign the Fiorentina star in the past, Conte ‘still likes him a lot’.

The report adds that representatives from Liverpool have watched the 26-year-old quite closely in Qatar, and it is suggested that Paris Saint-Germain could also enter the equation over the coming weeks.

Relevo claim that Fiorentina want a fee of €40m (£34.3m) including add-ons for Amrabat in January, out of which they want at least €30m (£25.7m) to be a fixed fee.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Conte and Paratici rate Amrabat highly, the reality is that they will both realise that it will be in Tottenham’s best interest to spend that £35m strengthening other areas of the pitch in January. The only way I can see Spurs making a move for the Moroccan is if they do something radical by loaning out or selling Oliver Skipp, which is extremely unlikely.
