Report: Club want £40m for long-term Spurs target

According to The Daily Star, Crystal Palace are willing to cash in on long-term Tottenham target Wilfried Zaha for £40m this summer.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Palace star on a couple of occasions in the past (talkSPORT and Athletic) but the deal has never materialised.

However, it appears that Zaha could finally get his move away from Selhurst Park this summer.

The 28-year-old, who scored 11 times in 30 Premier League appearances for the Eagles this season, has two years left on his contract and has reportedly expressed his desire to leave.

The Daily Star have named Spurs and Arsenal as two of the teams who are interested in Zaha’s services.

The reports explains that the Ivory Coast international looks set to leave the club this summer after Roy Hodgson’s departure.

It is revealed that Palace are prepared to sell him for £40m, £10m of which will go to Manchester United due to a 25 per cent sell-on clause inserted in the player’s contract following his departure from Old Trafford.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Spurs can get Zaha for around £30-£35m, I believe the deal would represent fantastic value. The 28-year-old is capable of raising his game if he gets a big move as not only does he seem to enjoy the limelight but he has also been held back by Hodgson’s pragmatic set-up at Palace.
