Report: Club will be patient with on-loan Spurs man after ‘unbearable years’

Italian publication Per Sempre Napoli have revealed that Napoli are expected to be patient with Tanguy Ndombele due to his lack of regular game time over recent years.

Ndombele completed a loan move to Napoli towards the end of the summer transfer window, with the Serie A club having the option to buy him permanently for £25m (The Times).

However, the midfielder’s spell in Naples has not started in a promising fashion, with the on-loan Spurs man being withdrawn at halftime in his only two starts of the season so far.

Per Sempre Napoli have now taken a closer look at the Frenchman’s situation, and explain that he is determined to ‘shake off the last three seasons’ and put those ‘difficult and unbearable years’ behind him.

The report adds that although ‘the marriage’ between him and Napoli has not worked so far, the player needs to get some ‘continuity’ in order to get back to his best.

The publication states that Ndombele is ‘starting almost from scratch’ and Luciano Spalletti’s men are expected to be patient with the former Lyon man since there is no risk for the Italian club if the player does not succeed at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is only fair that Ndombele gets a few starts under his belt before we judge his performances. However, looking at how he fared in his spell back at Lyon in the second half of last season, I am not too optimistic that he will be a success in Naples.
