Report: Club will charge Spurs and Liverpool £43m for forward this summer

According to a report in Bild (as relayed by Sport Witness), Eintracht Frankfurt have decided to significantly increase their asking price for Tottenham target Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush is having a breakthrough season at Frankfurt, with the versatile attacker now thriving in the centre-forward role at Deutsche Bank Park.

The 25-year-old has 21 goal contributions to his name across all competitions so far (15 goals and six assists) this season and his displays have allegedly attracted interest from the Premier League.

It was Bild who first reported last month that Spurs and Newcastle United had both expressed an interest in the Egypt international ahead of the summer.

Omar Marmoush will cost £42.7m for Tottenham

The same publication has now provided an update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Marmoush, revealing that Liverpool have also joined the Lilywhites in the race for the player.

They say that while Spurs have been interested in the attacker for a ‘long time’, more parties are also taking notice of the Frankfurt star.

The report says that although Marmoush is happy at the Bundesliga side, his dream is to play in the Premier League, which is something the club’s sporting director Markus Krosche is aware of.

With Frankfurt keen to hold on to the prolific forward, it is alleged that they have decided to increase his asking price to €50m (£42.7m).

Spurs Web Opinion

A lot of clubs around Europe are overestimating the value of some of their assets and have seemingly not adjusted to the new normal following the Premier League’s decision to strictly implement the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

I expect the transfer fees to continue falling over the next few windows and I certainly do not think English clubs would be prepared to spend £40m to £50m on players like Marmoush, who have had just one decent season.
