Report: Club willing to sell rumoured Spurs target for £15m

According to Mundo Deportivo, Palmeiras are ‘determined’ to cash in on rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Gabriel Menino this summer.

Menino has made a fantastic impression since breaking into Palmerias’ first team over a year ago.

The midfielder, who has been dubbed the ‘Brazilian Yaya Toure for his energy and ability to drive at the opposition, played a key role in Palmerias’ successful Copa Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil campaign.

Sky Sports (via TEAMtalk) reported earlier this week that Spurs are eying a move for the midfielder, with the North Londoners believing that the Brazilain’s ability to also play as right-back would make him a useful addition to the squad.

Mundo Depertivo claim that Palmeiras are not in a position to hang on to Menino should a suitable offer be made for him in the summer.

Despite the 21-year-old having a release clause of €60m (£51.3m), the club are prepared to sell him for €15-€20m (£12.8 to £17.1m).

The report also claims that Atletico Madrid and Chelsea hold an interest in the youngster and could make an offer for him in the summer.

Centre-back and central midfield are clearly the top main areas where we need reinforcements in the summer. If both Sissoko and Winks leave, then we would need to sign another central midfielder even with Oliver Skipp returning to the club.
