Report: Club would sell Spurs-linked star in January if ‘suitable offer’ arrives

Reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Nahitan Nandez could still leave in January with Cagliari allegedly willing to sell if a ‘suitable offer’ comes in.

Nandez was heavily linked with Spurs across the summer, with the player reportedly putting in a transfer request as he was keen to move to Tottenham.

Cagliari chief Stefano Capozucca has even confirmed the player held talks with Spurs in the summer transfer window. He said told L’Unione Sarda (as quoted by Calciomercato) that Nandez ‘had meetings with Tottenham’.

Nandez has made 75 appearances for the Italian club while also proving his credentials on the international stage – making an impressive 44 appearances for Uruguay since his debut in 2015 when he was 19-years-old.

The report states that if a ‘suitable offer’ arrives in January, Cagliari will sell up and they would like to ‘cash in as much as possible’, realising that Nandez would be ‘very useful’ for many teams, including Spurs.

Nandez has proved that he is ready for a big move and could be a nice addition to Nuno’s three-man midfield, especially with the current issues he is having surrounding a lack of depth, power and creativity.
