Report: Conte and Paratici are ‘crazy’ about Serie A midfielder valued at over £60m

La Lazio Siamo Noi have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who could be on the move this summer.

Milinkovic-Savic has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the Serie A for the past seven years and the Serbian is having another impressive campaign, with 18 goal contributions in the league so far this season (Transfrmarkt).

La Lazio Siamo Noi claim that Lazio would be open to selling the 27-year-old this summer since his contract runs only till 2024 and the player has no intention to renew his deal.

It is explained that the Serie A club value their talisman at around €75m-€80m (£62.3m-£66.5m) and would not stand in his way if such an offer arrives.

Spurs are named as one of the three leading contenders for Milinkovic-Savic’s signature along with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

It is said that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are ‘crazy’ about the Lazio star and the North Londoners could launch an offer for the player if they qualify for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Juventus are thought to be willing to offer Lazio €45m-€50m (£37.4m-£41.5m) plus one or two of their players in exchange for Milinkovic-Savic.

Spurs Web Opinion

Milinkovic-Savic would be a fantastic signing for Spurs as he would add goals and creativity from midfield – something that we are missing at the moment. The Serbian also has the attributes to thrive in the Premier League.

However, my gut feeling is that we are unlikely to spend the majority of our transfer budget on a midfielder, given the other areas that need to be addressed. I expect the Lazio star to end up at a club like PSG.
