Report: Conte and Paratici are fans of 23-year-old Serie A midfielder

Calciomercato have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on a move for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, who Antonio Conte is said to be a fan of.

Frattesi established himself as a regular in the Sassuolo starting eleven last season and his performances not only saw him being capped by Italy’s senior side but also reportedly attracting the attention of both Tottenham and West Ham United in the summer (Gazzetta).

The same publication revealed a few days ago that Manchester United have also entered the race for the 23-year-old ahead of the January transfer window (Gazzetta).

CalcioMercato have now offered an update on Frattesi’s future, explaining that a move to the Premier League is now on the cards for the midfielder after his proposed switch to Roma fell through during the summer.

The report reveals that Spurs are one of the clubs who have their eye on the Italy international while Inter Milan are also lurking in the background.

Finally, CalcioMercato state that both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are fans of the Sassuolo star.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if Pape Mater Sarr is loaned out in January, I do not expect Spurs to be in the market for a central midfielder. In Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Bissouama and Skipp, Conte has four options at his disposal who he seems to trust, and one would expect Bissouma to get a lot more game time during the second half of the season.
