Report: Conte blocks loan move for Spurs youngster – Wants him to stay

Tottenham have prevented Harvey White from leaving on loan this month with Antonio Conte keen to keep him at the club, according to the Evening Standard (6:15 pm).

Spurs have been one of the most active clubs on deadline day, with Juventus pair Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur both confirmed as Antonio Conte’s first signings.

There have been plenty of outgoings though, with Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil all outgoings ahead of the deadline.

But young midfielder White will not be joining them, as he has been prevented from securing a loan move, according to the Evening Standard.

The report states Spurs boss Conte blocked any sort of move from happening in the final hours as he is keen on keeping the 20-year-old on board at the club.

It also states the likes of Hull, Luton, Portsmouth and Sunderland were all interested parties in White, but will now miss out on the midfielder.

With the number of exits today, it isn’t surprising to see Conte want to keep White at the club as another body on the bench. Tottenham haven’t brought many in too, so they need to have him there in case the squad gets severely decimated by absences.
