With the news that Cristian Romero is now expected to be out until January or February with a hamstring problem, that only makes it more likely that the North Londoners will move for centre-back.

Calciomercato.it have now claimed that De Ligt is one of the options Tottenham are looking at. The report reveals the Dutchman is ‘liked’ by many clubs across Europe, with Spurs being on the forefront.

It is explained that Juventus could be open to cashing in on the Netherlands international in January for the right price.

The report alleges that Conte likes De Ligt and Romero’s injury could convince the Italian to ask the North London club to complete a January deal for the defender.

The only position where we lack cover is at the left-centre-back, where Ben Davies is our only natural option. So, a move for De Ligt would certainly make sense and the Netherlands international would arguably be an upgrade on the Welshman.
