Report: Conte could be forced to leave Inter Milan amidst Spurs links

In a development that comes as a potential boost to Tottenham’s chances of landing Antonio Conte, FC Inter News have now claimed that the Italian may be forced to quit Inter Milan due to the club’s dire financial situation.

While Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Conte is not thought to be among Tottenham’s shortlist of managers to replace Jose Mourinho, the speculation linking the former Chelsea boss with a move to Spurs shows no signs of dying down.

It has been suggested that Tottenham have already sounded out Conte and that the Inter boss could be tempted by a move to the North London club if the Nerrazuri do not give him assurances over transfers.

If Inter News are to be believed, the Serie A giants are in no position to make any transfer assurances, with the club instead looking to cut costs due to their financial difficulties.

It is revealed that the Inter hierarchy have asked the players and coaching staff to take salary cuts to help to offset the club’s substantial losses.

The report asserts that the salary cuts being requested are permanent rather than temporary, thus potentially forcing some coaching staff and players to leave Inter this summer.

If there is even a 10 per cent chance that Conte would become available, I suspect Daniel Levy would want to wait to see how the situation unfolds before confirming a new appointment.
