Report: Conte delivers more home truths in three months than Levy has heard in years

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has not held back with his assessment of the club in his conversations with chairman Daniel Levy, according to Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold.

The Italian was appointed to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo in November after the Portuguese was sacked having seen his side lose three of their last four matches across all competitions and not had a shot on target in two hours and 16 minutes in the Premier League (Sky Sports).

Conte has already publicly slammed Tottenham’s transfer activity, labelling the January transfer window as ‘very strange’ and admitting that mistakes have been made with previous transfers (Mirror).

Gold claims that Conte has already been more upfront and honest with his chairman during his three-month stint about what he has inherited than Levy has heard in years.

It is good to see that Conte is pulling no punches with his assessment of the club and is not afraid to offend Levy. The chairman needs to hear the harsh truths of reality from an experienced winner on what it will take to make the club successful.

While Levy has a sound financial understanding of how to operate the business side of the club, he needs to trust and listen to Conte if he has any ambition of turning us into winners.
