Report: Conte had ‘another bust-up’ with Chelsea star in tunnel after final whistle

The Sun have claimed that Antonio Conte had a bust-up with Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic as he walked down the tunnel following Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Conte and Thomas Tuchel squared off against each other after the final whistle when the Chelsea boss seemingly did not let go of the Italian’s hand after their handshake and demanded that he look him in the eye.

The two managers had to be separated and were both shown a straight red card for the incident.

The Sun have revealed that the incident was not the only flare-up involving Conte after the final whistle, with the Spurs boss also said to have got into an altercation with Kovacic.

The report reveals that a fired-up Conte barged into the Croat as he walked down the Stamford Bridge tunnel, with the midfielder missing the London derby due to an injury.

It is alleged that the incident led to the Chelsea midfielder then arguing with the Tottenham backroom staff.

Conte was asked about his confrontation with Kovacic in his post-match press conference but the 53-year-old dismissed the incident as ‘not important’ (Football.London).

Conte is certainly not the type of character to back down when faced with aggression and the Italian seemed quite angry as he walked into the tunnel, seemingly getting into an argument with Cesar Azpilicueta. So, it is not surprising that the altercation continued after he made his way into the tunnel.
