Report: Conte has concerns over Spurs star’s attitude – Club ‘desperately’ want to sell

The Athletic have revealed that Antonio Conte has concerns about Tanguy Ndombele’s attitude, with Tottenham ‘desperately’ trying to find a new club for the midfielder.

It has been reported over recent weeks that Spurs are looking to move Ndombele on before the end of the month, with the North Londoners even being open to a loan deal.

Conte gave a big hint about the Frenchman’s future by leaving him out of Tottenham’s matchday squad for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

The Athletic have now revealed that Ndombele is also keen to leave Spurs but his £200,000-a-week wages are proving prohibitive.

The report claims that Conte came in with an open mind regarding the former Lyon man but the Spurs boss does not feel he has done enough to merit a place in the team.

It is alleged that the Italian has misgivings about the 25-year-old’s attitude as well as his willingness to work hard for the team – two things he considers fundamental.

The Athletic also reveal that some sources at the club feel Ndombele has been his own worst enemy, often giving the impression that he is not particularly bothered about getting the best out of himself.

It now seems fairly clear that Ndombele does not have a future at Spurs. However, I can only see him leaving the club on loan this month given his bumper wages.

Even if he does well out on loan, Tottenham might have difficulties trying to find a buyer for him at the end of the season unless the midfielder agrees to take a wage cut.
