Report: Conte has ‘grown weary’ of Spurs player who ‘doesn’t follow instructions’

According to The Independent, Antonio Conte has grown weary of Giovani Lo Celso’s inability to follow instructions to his required level.

Lo Celso was left out of Tottenham’s matchday squad for their trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with the Argentine taking to his Instagram story yesterday (23/1) to admit that his absence is not injury-related.

Conte batted away questions about the 25-year-old after defeat to Chelsea, insisting that the club needed to clarify the midfielder’s situation (Football London).

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has since revealed that Sevilla are looking to snap up Lo Celso before this month’s window closes.

The Independent have now explained why it is that Tottenham have decided to let Lo Celso leave.

The publication claims that while Conte considers the midfielder to be a ‘good player’, he feels the former Real Betis man does not follow his instructions to the ‘level required’.

The report goes on to explain that Spurs need to move on Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele in order to bring in the players that Conte wants.

In case all three depart, it asserted that the North Londoners would look to bring in a wing-back and two midfielders before the window closes.

Spurs Web Opinion

I doubt Spurs would be willing to let Dele, Ndombele and Lo Celso depart unless they have at least one midfielder lined up to bring in. However, as things stand, we do not really seem to be linked with many midfield players.

The Kessie deal does not look like it is going to go through this month, with the Ivorian alleged to prefer a summer move (CalcioMercato). So, unless Paratici has managed to keep our targets completely under wraps, signing two central midfielders seems quite unlikely.
