Report: Conte has ‘requested’ Spurs hierarchy to snap up 29-year-old wing-back

Fichajes.net have claimed Antonio Conte has requested that the Tottenham hierarchy make a move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic.

Kostic, who can operate as a left-winger, a right-winger and as a wing-back, has blossomed since his move to Frankfurt back in 2018.

The 29-year-old is having another exceptional season for the Bundesliga club, having scored three goals and registered nine assists across all competitions so far this campaign.

Fichajes.net have now revealed that Conte has been a fan of Kostic for a long time and even previously tried to take him to Inter Milan.

The Italian is said to have asked Tottenham to make ‘extra effort’ to snap up the Serbian, who he sees as an upgrade at left-wing-back over Sergio Reguilon.

However, it is explained that the North Londoners could wait until the summer before making a move for Kostic.

Finally, the report suggests that Frankfurt will not let the wide man leave for less than €25m-€30m (£21m-£25.2m).

Spurs Web Opinion

The wing-back areas are certainly a weakness for us as things stand. Conte’s system relies on isolating the wing-backs one vs one with the opposition full-backs by switches of play.

So, the inability of Reguilon and Emerson to take players on and get past them is certainly costing us going forward. So, I am not surprised Conte is rumoured to be looking for upgrades on both the Spaniard and the Brazilian.
