Report: Conte has spoken to Levy ‘more frankly’ than any others Spurs boss has dared

Football.London have claimed that Antonio Conte has spoken to Daniel Levy more frankly than any of his predecessors ever dared.

Despite Spurs having just one game left to go this season, Conte’s future is still up in the air. The Italian was previously linked with the Paris Saint-Germain job (Le Parisien) but he has rubbished that speculation as ‘fake news’ (Goal).

However, Conte has refused to commit his future to the club, insisting a couple of weeks ago that he has to meet with Levy and Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici at the end of the season to discuss their future plans (Football.London).

Football.London have now stated that the Spurs boss’ meeting with Levy and Paratici is likely to be an ‘uncomfortable one in some aspects’.

It is explained that Conte has delivered plenty of ‘home truths’ to the Tottenham chairman as well as the staff at the club since taking over as head coach from Nuno Espirito Santo back in November of last year.

It is asserted that none of Conte’s predecessors have dared to speak as frankly to Levy as Conte has.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe Conte’s refusal to commit his future to Spurs is down to him not wanting to weaken his negotiating position with Levy and Paratici.

However, I do not doubt that the Italian will end up staying. While he might not get everything he is demanding, I expect the Tottenham hierarchy will show enough ambition to keep him content.
