Report: Conte ready to make ‘heavy financial sacrifices’ to get what he wants

TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that Antonio Conte is ready to take a major pay cut in order to return to the Inter Milan dugout.

It is perhaps a bit surprising to many that Tottenham have still not officially pulled the plug on the Conte project as it was reported as early as the start of this week that the Italian will soon be asked to pack his bags (Telegraph).

The print edition of Corriere dello Sport (22/03/23 – as relayed by Sport Witness) claimed on Wednesday that four different Serie A clubs are lining up a move for the 53-year-old if he parts ways with Tottenham.

The report claimed that the Spurs head coach would welcome the chance to return to Juventus while both AC Milan and Inter Milan were also alleged to be keeping an eye on his situation.

The publication added that AS Roma could make a move for him if they are unable to convince Jose Mourinho to stick around for next season.

TMW have now talked up the chance of Conte returning to Inter, who he guided to the Scudetto back in 2020-21.

The outlet says that the Tottenham boss would be ‘willing to make heavy financial sacrifices’ to take over at the Nerazzurri as he feels he still has ‘unfinished’ business at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

By the sounds of it, Conte would not have to wait too long before landing a big job, which is not surprising considering his brilliant record in Serie A.

However, given the financial state of the aforementioned clubs, they might have some concerns over handing the job to the 53-year-old, who is quite demanding when it comes to transfers.
