Report: Conte recently blocked potential Spurs transfer deal involving first-team player

Sporx have reported that Antonio Conte blocked a potential Lucas Moura exit this year as he wanted the Brazilian to remain in North London until the end of the season.

Moura himself apparently gave the ‘green light’ to a transfer before the Turkish window slammed shut, but any potential deal was scuppered by Conte putting his foot down.

Despite this, Fenerbahce are still attempting to land Moura on a free at the end of the season and have ‘already started negotiations’ with the winger’s agent.

However, Moura is said to be attracting interest from France, Italy, and Spain, so Fenerbahce face a fight to sign the 30-year-old.

Turkish publication Sabah (21/02/23 as relayed by SportWitness) previously reported that Fenerbahce had offered the Spurs star a three-year contract worth £43,000 a week.

Moura’s current contract runs out in June and Tottenham have decided against exercising their option to extend it by another 12 months (Telegraph).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Moura has always been a very positive personality to have around Hotspur Way, and always tries to make things happen on the pitch, at the very least.

I suspect he will be adored even more once he leaves and nestles into the Spurs cult hero status.
