Report: Conte taking time to think as Spurs impose staff restrictions

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Antonio Conte is now taking some time to assess Tottenham’s proposal to him, which includes certain staff restrictions.

It was first reported by Sky Sports Italia that Tottenham had opened talks with the former Inter Milan manager to fill the vacant role in North London.

Di Marzio has now claimed that Daniel Levy and Spurs will only let Conte bring four members of staff with him to the club, which the Italian manager is now thinking about.

Unfortunately for all those involved, Conte has strong links with more than four coaches/members of staff.

Paolo Vanoli is the Inter Milan technical coach and has linked up with Conte across three management jobs. Julio Tous and Constantino Coratti, both fitness coaches, were also with Conte during his time at Chelsea, Inter Milan and Italy.

Every single managerial job Conte has ever had, his brother Gianluca Conte has come too as a technical coach. Stefano Bruno and Conte go back to their Bari days, while Cristian Stellini has been Conte’s assistant at Inter Milan, Juventus and Siena.

That could leave a tough choice for Conte if he is to accept Tottenham’s proposal. It is unknown whether the Spurs restriction stems from a financial budget or a desire to have some of their own people on the coaching team, such as Ledley King.
