Report: Conte wants Spurs player to get more goals and assists next season

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Antonio Conte rates Ryan Sessegnon highly and believes the signing of Ivan Perisic could aid the 21-year-old’s development.

Sessegnon established himself as Conte’s first choice in the left wing-back role towards the end of the season but the former Fulham man will now have competition to contend with from Perisic, who has proven to be one of the best in the world at LWB this past two years.

Reports indicate that the Croat had his medical with Tottenham on Monday and is expected to sign a two-year contract with the North London club (Sky Sports).

Gold has revealed that not only does Conte think Perisic can help improve the Tottenham squad’s mentality but both the Spurs head coach and Fabio Paratici also believe the 33-year-old can help mentor Sessegnon.

The journalist claims that Conte has high hopes for Sessegnon and wants the youngster to be even braver on the ball when attacking.

Gold states that the Italian wants the England Under-21 international to trust his body and get more goals and assists next season, and thinks that having Perisic at the club could aid his progression.
