Fichajes.net have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to make another attempt to sign Franck Kessie as per Antonio Conte’s request after failing with an approach for the midfielder during the summer transfer window.
La Repubblica reported a few days ago that Conte wants to strengthen his midfield and added that Kessie is the Italian’s favoured option.
This information has now been backed up by Fichajes, who claim that the Spurs boss knows the Barcelona man is a midfielder ‘with full guarantees’, which is why he wanted him back in the summer.
The report asserts that the Ivorian ‘has all the conditions’ that Conte is looking for in a midfielder. It is explained that Kessie has not convinced Xavi Hernández and is considered expendable by Barca, which some teams are aware of.
Fichajes name Inter Milan as the other team who have expressed an interest in the former AC Milan star.
The Nerazzurri are said to have contacted Barcelona regarding the finances of the operation but it is said that the Italian club would only be able to sign him on loan with a purchase option for next summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Although a midfielder might not be a priority for Spurs in January, an opportunity to sign a player of Kessie’s quality for a cut-price fee, might be viewed by the club as too good to turn down. The Ivorian is certainly a Conte kind of player, given his engine, physicality and tactical nous.
