Report: Conte wants to offload eight Spurs players and sign six replacements

The Times have claimed that Antonio Conte wishes to make six new signings at Tottenham and wants to offload eight players from the squad this summer.

This summer looks set to be a busy one for Spurs ahead of Conte’s first full season in charge of the club.

The Times have now revealed that the Italian is planning on a major rebuild this summer and would like at least six singings, including three defenders, a midfielder and a forward.

The report explains that Conte would like all of them to arrive before the club’s tour to South Korea in July so that he could work with them during pre-season.

The 52-year-old allegedly also wants to offload around eight players, including Sergio Reguilon, Emerson Royal, Steven Bergwijn, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.

The Times also state that Lyon will not activate the £54m option to sign Ndombele permanently at the end of his loan spell.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs generally tend to leave their business until quite late in the transfer window in order to get the best deals. So, if Conte has asked for the singings to be completed in time for pre-season, that would represent a big change to the club’s modus operandi.

However, that will also likely depend on whether or not we are able to find buyers for some of our deadwood. We might not be able to get suitable offers for some of these players until late in the window, which might impact our ability to bring players in.
