Report: Conte wants to raid Inter Milan for 29-year-old in January

CMW.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur may make a move for Marcelo Brozovic during the January transfer window.

Brozovic was a fixture in Inter’s midfield during Antonio Conte’s time at the San Siro, with the Croat playing a key role in the club’s march to the Scudetto during the 2020-21 season.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin claimed back in April that Conte wanted to take the 29-year-old to Spurs but the player rejected a move to the Premier League club in favour of signing a new contract with Inter (Telalombardia 13/04/22 edition via FC Inter 1908).

However, CMW.it now contend that Tottenham could reignite their interest in Brozovic following Inter’s poor start to the season.

The report states that Conte is keen to bolster his options in the middle of the park and has identified the former Dinamo Zagreb as the ideal target.

However, it is explained that since Brozovic only signed a new contract with the Nerazzurri a few months ago, the Italian club will not let him leave cheaply.

CMW.it assert that Simone Inzaghi’s side could demand around €60m (£52m) for the midfielder, which could prove too much for Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spending big money on Brozovic would make no sense for Spurs. In fact, one can argue that the central midfield area is the one position where the Lilywhites are least in need of reinforcements, given that Conte has four solid options in Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Bissouma and Skipp at his disposal.
