According to Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by The Daily Express), Tottenham Hotspur have assured Antonio Conte that the club will complete a deal for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic in January.
Reports in the days after Conte’s appointment claimed that the Italian had asked the North London club to bring in Vlahvoic.
It has been alleged that Fabio Paratici recently met with the Fiorentina directors to discuss a potential deal for the Serbian international.
However, Gianluca Di Marzio then reported that Arsenal had also held a meeting with the Viola hierarchy over a January deal for the centre-forward.
He claimed that the Gunners had agreed to pay the €80m (£68.4m) asking price for the 21-year-old but they were yet to reach an agreement with the player.
However, Gazzetta’s latest update suggests that the deal for Vlahvoic could be hijacked by Tottenham when the transfer window reopens.
Conte is thought to have been informed by the Tottenham board that they are committed to signing Vlahovic in January.

I would be hugely surprised if Spurs shelled out £70m on Vlahvoic in January given the other areas of the squad that are in desperate need for reinforcements. I can see us potentially pursuing the Serbian next summer but a January deal sounds unlikely.
